James Eaves, spent 15 years as a university economics professor studying how new technologies move from idea to market. In 2020, he joined VoltServer, the inventor of Fault Managed Power (FMP), to help identify and build the markets where this breakthrough technology could have the biggest impact. Over the past five years, James has explored how FMP can transform power distribution in buildings and agriculture. This involves turning data-driven studies into real-world projects that scale from pilots to full deployments. Lately, his work has centered on one of the most exciting applications yet: helping older buildings replace aging gas systems with efficient electric heat pumps. James collaborates with HVAC experts, electricians, building owners, and other stakeholders to collect real-world data, building strategic partnerships, and deploy Fault Managed Power in buildings. He brings to this masterclass both a clear explanation of how Fault Managed Power works and a practical view of when it makes sense, when it doesn’t, and how ICT professionals can capture the growing opportunity it creates.
