COL Donald E. Sedivy was commissioned as an Infantry officer in 2005 after graduating from the United States Military Academy (USMA). COL Sedivy served as a Rifle Platoon Leader, a Company Executive Officer, and Battalion S4 while assigned to 1st Battalion, 327th Infantry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division (AASLT) at Fort Campbell, Kentucky and forward deployed locations in Iraq. COL Sedivy was subsequently assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 34th Armor Regiment, 1st Heavy Brigade Combat Team (HBCT), 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, Kansas, where he served as Assistant Battalion S3 and Company Commander to include a deployment to Maiwand District, Kandahar Province, Afghanistan as a Company Commander. COL Sedivy served as an instructor and assistant professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at the United States Military Academy. Upon completion of his tour of duty as an instructor and transferring to the Cyber Branch, COL Sedivy served as the Cyber Protection Team Lead and the Battalion Executive Officer for 2nd Cyber Battalion within the U.S. Army Cyber Protection Brigade (USACPB). Upon completion of his first tour with the USACPB, COL Sedivy served as the Battalion Operations Officer (S3) for the 915th Cyber Warfare Battalion (now the 11th Cyber Battalion) before returning to the USACPB as the Brigade Operations Officer. COL Sedivy commanded the 781st MI BN (Cyber) from June 2022-2024 in support of the Cyber National Mission Force (CNMF) where he led offensive cyberspace operations (OCO) training for joint forces within the CNMF. COL Sedivy most recently served as the G3/5/7 for Cyber Center of Excellence (CCoE) and currently serves as the Transformation Integration Director (TID) for CCoE. COL Sedivy’s awards and decorations are commensurate with his grade and time in service including the Master Combat Infantryman’s Badge and the Ranger Tab. COL Sedivy holds a Master of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology, a Master of Strategic Studies from the Air War College, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from USMA.
