Technical review of modern structural high strength steel as the industry moves forward to meet the demands of an ever-evolving construction market. Focus will be placed on the improvements of weldability, toughness and greater mechanical properties previously not achievable with past production methods. Examples of CJP testing with CVNs and oblique Y-Groove tests will be reviewed. Attendees will come away with a better understanding of the design and fabrication of higher strength structural steels.
