This train-the-trainer course will cover how to safely operate an overhead crane including: (a.) General requirements of cranes; (b.) Overhead crane types and components with descriptions and definitions; (c.) Types of crane inspections and frequency of those inspections; daily, OSHA Periodic, and OSHA frequent; (d.) Introduction on rigging and below the hook devices and their proper uses; (e.) Knowing and calculating loads and sling angles; (f.) Understanding crane maintenance; (g.) Proper crane operation (do’s and don’ts of overhead cranes); (h.) Crane safety components - what they do and why they are important. Certificate of attendance will be granted to participants upon completion of the class.
