W104: Beyond the Prime Recipient: Strengthening Controls Over Subrecipient Funding Before Problems Become Headlines (Room Atrium Hall)

Funding that passes through multiple organizations can create gaps in accountability and increase the risk of unsupported costs, duplicate funding and misuse of funds. This session examines practical controls for subrecipient risk assessment, monitoring, reporting and corrective action. Panelists will discuss how to identify high-risk subrecipients, evaluate financial and performance information, and escalate suspected fraud, waste or abuse.
