Educational Leadership: Leading with Purpose
This session highlights the partnership between the IDEA Data Center (IDC) and the Arkansas Department of Education’s Office of Special Education as they worked to support LEA teams to strengthen how they interpret and use IDEA data for decision-making. Through five statewide data retreats, Arkansas LEA teams participated in hands-on, facilitated activities to examine IDEA indicators, explore factors driving data trends, and connect insights into local priorities and improvement efforts. Participants will learn how intentional facilitation, structured collaboration, and clearly defined leadership roles helped these teams move beyond reviewing data to using it as a catalyst for action. Presenters will share replicable tools, practical facilitation strategies, and leadership lessons that attendees can adapt to strengthen their own data conversations, foster shared ownership, and translate IDEA data into meaningful LEA action.
