Instructional Excellence: Achieving Success
Creative Connections: Moving Minds Through Movement & Technology introduces special education leaders to innovative, brain-aligned strategies that combine purposeful movement with accessible technology to support diverse learners. Dr. Shani Challenor, EdD, MSEd, demonstrates how movement can enhance engagement, self-regulation, executive functioning, and academic outcomes while ensuring students’ strengths are recognized, valued, and respected. Known as a “Shiftologist–Neurodiva,” she draws on her research in Response to Intervention (RTI) to share practical, low-prep strategies that can be implemented schoolwide, including movement-based warm-ups, multisensory response routines, and technology-supported intervention approaches. This session provides leaders with actionable tools to empower teachers, strengthen inclusive practices, and design structures that highlight neurodivergent brilliance. Rooted in culturally responsive, strength-based, and universal design principles, it addresses timely challenges in special education and equips leaders to transform learning environments, elevate stakeholder voices, and foster equitable, high-impact outcomes for all students.
