Supercharging the School Day through Effective Teaming with Transportation (Room Ballroom A)

The school day begins and ends on the school bus—setting the tone for everything in between. This session will explore practical strategies for increasing students’ instructional time by implementing positive behavior management techniques on the school bus. By applying proactive, evidence-based strategies that promote self-regulation and consistency, districts can significantly enhance the student transportation experience. Developing a collaborative team approach between transportation, special education, and student services strengthens continuity of support and ensures high-quality service delivery. This session will provide actionable guidance for fostering effective teamwork in special needs transportation settings. Through recommendations, targeted interventions, and case study analyses, participants will examine how collaborative practices have been successfully implemented across school districts. An expert panel representing transportation, special education, and student services will share insights and real-world applications.
