2026 CASE Conference

Quest for Independence: XR + VR Edition (Room 555A)

Session Description: Join us in a hands-on Quest for Independence—an immersive learning experience where assistive technology (AT) meets virtual reality (VR) to empower students with disabilities to build independence and confidence. This interactive session invites participants to explore a variety of accessible digital and mixed-reality tools designed to enhance student engagement, teach daily living and employability skills, and support transition planning for learners with complex needs. Participants will explore AT devices and virtual simulations drawn from the Michigan Transition to Independence (MITTIN) Project. You’ll have the opportunity to try out mixed-reality modules and experience how virtual environments can safely teach real-world skills.
