Chad Bungard has served as a member of the Senior Executive Service for nearly 19 years. Since 2020, Chad has served as the Chief Strategy Officer for the Office of Inspector General (OIG), Social Security Administration (SSA). He provides executive-level strategic advice, guidance, and support to the Inspector General (IG) on key mission-critical issues, initiatives, and functions, including congressional and media relations. Since August 2018, Chad has served as the Co-Chair of the SSA National Anti-Fraud Committee (NAFC), where he has achieved key initiatives to combat fraud in collaboration with SSA and has highlighted the interplay between artificial intelligence and fraud. Chad’s efforts and results led to OMB recognizing his NAFC leadership. Chad spoke at OMB’s Fraud and Payment Integrity Symposium in June 2023, titled How Collaboration with the OIG Conquers Fraud at SSA, where OMB encouraged all agencies to establish a NAFC model at their agency.
