Robert Palombo is the National Program Manager for the International Money Laundering Section at Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Headquarters. He previously served for more than 23 years as a Special Agent in HSI’s Miami Field Office, conducting a wide range of investigations including organized crime, drug trafficking, and financial crimes. For 13 years, he was assigned to the HSI Miami El Dorado Money Laundering Task Force where he gained extensive experience conducting undercover transnational money laundering investigations, including illicit proceeds cases, foreign corruption, and trade-based money laundering schemes employing the Black Market Peso Exchange (BMPE). His work has led to millions of dollars in seizures and forfeitures of illicit assets as well as the disruption of major criminal networks across the U.S., Latin America, and Europe.
