Robert D. Sholtis is assigned as the Chief Information Officer and Deputy Assistant Chief of Staff, G39 and G6 for MARFORPAC. Prior to his arrival, he served with the Office of the Secretary of Defense for Policy where as a Country Director, China he led portfolios for Artificial Intelligence, Legislative Affairs, China Trade and Economic deterrence for OSD, and focused on providing global policy and guidance for innovation, economic, and technology competition. He also served 10 years leading the Marine Corps’ ground forces C2 and S&T Section where he led USMC ground integration of cyber, science and technology, and C2 sections; developed Artificial Intelligence strategy and advocated for more than 56 C2 and Cyber Programs of Record ensuring their prioritization and execution within budget, time, and capability. A prior Marine with multiple combat tours in Iraq, career Civil Servant and a 2022 Defense Senior Leader Development graduate, he has been acknowledged as mentor to senior leaders and led a DOD technology company synchronizing the US defense industrial base on key DoD technology needs.
