Shale Norwitz
Executive Director
Neurodynamic Networks

Shale Norwitz is a retired U.S. Air Force Senior NCO, and nationally recognized advocate for neurodiversity in defense, technology, and national security. After more than 20 years of distinguished service in cyberspace operations, Shale turned his attention toward researching and redefining how neurodivergent cognition can transform leadership, innovation and resilience within the military. Featured by official Air Force media and cited in a RAND Corporation report on Neurodiversity and National Security, Shale brings a rare combination of lived experience, policy insight, and strategic clarity to one of the most important conversations of our time. His work challenges outdated assumptions about who is “fit to serve” by highlighting how neurodivergent individuals—those with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other unique cognitive profiles—bring exceptional strengths to high-stakes environments. Now pursuing an Executive MPA at Cornell University, Shale is developing research and frameworks that explore the connection between neurodiversity and operational excellence. His next chapter includes launching a nonprofit dedicated to advancing inclusion and innovation across the defense community—creating pathways for recruitment, retention, and leadership development that reflect the full spectrum of human intelligence. Known for his direct, grounded style and fierce commitment to integrity, Shale’s mission is simple but revolutionary: to prove that different minds aren’t liabilities—they’re our nation’s hidden advantage.
