Brette Fishman

From grantee to grantor, pre-award to audits, post-award adjustments, and everything in between, Brette Fishman brings more than 20 years of experience leading and improving financial assistance programs. Brette is the Director of Grants Management Solutions at FI Consulting where she leads the firm’s support for clients that manage grants and financial assistance programs. Her work includes implementing FI Consulting’s Grants Quality Service Management Office (QSMO)-recommended award management software solution, Program Investment Manager (PIM). Before joining FI Consulting, Brette served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Grants Management at the U.S. Department of Education where she represented the Department on governmentwide councils, including the Council on Federal Financial Assistance (COFFA). She also served as Director of the Office of Grants Policy for pandemic programs at the U.S. Department of the Treasury and supported governmentwide financial assistance policy and administration during a one-year detail with the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), Office of Federal Financial Management. Brette brings deep expertise in project and program management, performance measurement, systems modernization, and change management. She is a Project Management Professional (PMP), a Certified Grants Management Specialist (CGMS), and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt.
