Katja is a Director at Diligent who provides thought leadership on audit, risk, and compliance content, with a particular focus on the SLED sector. She has more than ten years of public-sector audit experience with the City and County of Denver. As Audit Director, she led the strategic direction of one of the largest local audit organizations in the United States. Katja holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the University of Colorado Boulder and a Master’s degree in Environmental law and Policy from Vermont Law School. She also studied law at Freie Universität Berlin in Germany. In addition, she has served as Chair of the Professional Issues Committee for the Association of Local Government Auditors.
