Erick Lugo is a Supervisory Financial Auditor assigned to the Financial Statement Audit since February 2024. Erick joined the VA OIG in June 2018 with the Kansas City Field Office, beginning federal service earlier in May 2016 as an accounting technician for the San Juan VA Medical Center in Puerto Rico. In that role, Erick worked in the Medical Center’s Fiscal Office, reviewing obligations, analyzing accounting transactions, and monitoring fund balances in VA’s Financial Management System. Erick holds a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Puerto Rico and a master’s degree in finance from the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico and is a Certified Fraud Examiner. Additionally, Erick served in the Army National Guard for 21 years. Erick currently lives in Florida, with a spouse and two daughters.
