Kelly Education
Dr. Kathleen Adolt-Silva is the Director of Special Education Content at Kelly Education. Previously she has held the role of Director for the Managed Paraeducator Program Center of Excellence at Kelly Education and was the architect of that program. Dr. KAS has been a teacher of the hearing impaired, a special education high school and middle school math and English teacher, a special education director and administrator in Pennsylvania public schools, and an adjunct professor working with paraeducator accreditation programs. She has also worked for the US Army/Europe as an Education Program Specialist for Child Development Services, including during Operation Desert Storm. Dr. KAS has been on the founding staff and board of 2 successful charter schools for the performing arts.. Kathleen is a highly enthusiastic and motivating nationwide speaker and was recently the keynote speaker for the Oklahoma State Special Education Conference's Paraeducator Day. She is a proponent of the elevation of the role of the paraeducator in our public schools. Her research was on executive functioning modeling by paraeducators for students with learning disabilities or ADHD. She holds master’s and doctoral degrees in Special Education, with additional post-graduate work in Early Childhood Education, and an undergraduate degree in Education of the Hearing Impaired. Currently, she lives on the Outer Banks of NC with her dog Abbott and has raised 3 wonderful adults, of whom she is very proud. She is also an active NEST (Network for Endangered Sea Turtles) volunteer.
