Dr. Robert Feirsen is Associate Professor and Coordinator of the Educational Leadership Program at Manhattanville University. Previously, he was assistant professor and chair of the Education Department at New York Institute of Technology. As a school leader, Dr. Feirsen enjoyed a distinguished career as an assistant principal, elementary and middle school principal, assistant superintendent, deputy superintendent, and superintendent of schools. Dr. Feirsen taught at the elementary, middle, and high school levels as a social studies and special education teacher before moving into supervisory roles. Dr. Feirsen’s research has been published in prestigious academic journals. With co-presenter Dr. Seth Weitzman, he has published two books on education topics, written articles for national education magazines including Educational Leadership, Kappan, and Principal, presented at numerous national and regional conferences, served as featured guest on podcasts, and led webinars. Drs. Feirsen and Weitzman are frequent contributors to the highly regarded Edutopia website. They focus their research and work with schools on managing conflict, school and district leadership, retention of highly effective staff, and inquiry learning. Drs.
