Jenna Rodgers (EdS, MAT, MPA) has been an educator for 10 years, including 7 years in special education. She currently serves as an interrelated teacher in Georgia and previously worked as an emotional and behavioral intervention teacher. Jenna also serves as a Special Education Department Chair, where she supports fellow teachers and works with school leadership to ensure students with disabilities receive meaningful access to the services and opportunities they need to succeed. Throughout her career, Jenna has focused on supporting students with complex learning and behavioral needs while advocating for equitable access to education. Her work emphasizes helping students develop the behavioral and coping skills necessary to participate successfully in school while continuing to engage in rigorous academic instruction. Jenna has extensive experience developing behavior supports for students who need additional structure to succeed in the classroom. She believes that students benefit when educators intentionally teach skills such as emotional regulation and self-advocacy alongside academic content, allowing them to build confidence and greater independence over time. A particular focus of Jenna’s work has been supporting students experiencing school refusal and chronic absenteeism. By building strong relationships with students and families and creating individualized plans that reduce barriers to attendance, she has helped several students successfully return to school and reconnect with learning. Jenna is passionate about creating learning environments where students feel supported, capable, and valued, and she continues to advocate for practices that help all learners meaningfully access education.
