Katherine Bradley-Black

Katherine Bradley-Black has over 25 years’ experience in the field of special education. She is knowledgeable about the process of identifying students with disabilities, the development and implementation of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), the provision of specially designed instruction, and the role of special education within the general education setting. In addition, Bradley-Black provides expertise in required transition services and issues related to increasing graduation rates and post-school outcomes for students with disabilities. Prior to joining WestEd, Dr. Bradley-Black served as a central office administrator in a large suburban school district in Northern Virginia. She provided schools with TA and PD on the implementation of compliant special education programs and services. Dr. Bradley-Black has experience teaching students with high-incidence disabilities who access the general education curriculum in general and special class settings in both middle and high school. Dr. Bradley-Black has a MAT in Special Education from the University of South Carolina and a PhD in Education from George Mason University.
