Natalie Sokol
Assistant Director
Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN)


Dr. Natalie Sokol has served as Assistant Director of the eastern region office of the Pennsylvania Training and Technical Assistance Network (PaTTAN) for the past eight years and brings more than 30 years of experience in education. Before her current role, she worked as an educational consultant at PaTTAN, a training consultant for Colonial Intermediate Unit 20, and an inclusion specialist for the Central Bucks School District. She has extensive experience supporting individuals with diverse disabilities across educational and community settings, including adults with dual diagnoses. Dr. Sokol earned her bachelor’s degree from Kutztown University and her master’s and doctoral degrees in special education from Lehigh University, along with administrative certificates from Gwynedd Mercy University. During graduate school, she served as a research scientist at Lehigh University, coordinating federal grants funded by the Office of Special Education Programs and the National Institute of Mental Health. She spent eight years as an adjunct professor in Lehigh University’s Department of Special Education and three years as a dissertation advisor at Gwynedd Mercy University. She currently teaches in the Psychology Department at Purdue Global University. Dr. Sokol has presented at national conferences and co-authored publications focused on functional behavioral assessment and positive behavior support. She holds Pennsylvania certifications in speech/language pathology, special education, special education supervision, and a Superintendent Letter of Eligibility, and is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA D). Above all, she is a committed advocate for self-determination and equity for individuals with disabilities.
