Kim Nater (B.A., M.Ed., Ed. S) has 19 years of experience in education and currently serves as an elementary school administrator in Georgia’s Forsyth County School District. She will soon transition back to district special education as a behavior specialist supporting K–12 schools. Throughout her career, she has served as a general education teacher, IRR teacher, emotional/behavior disorder teacher, behavior coach, behavior specialist, and administrator. Her work has focused on supporting students with behavioral and emotional needs while collaborating with school teams to implement effective interventions. She has extensive experience supporting school refusal cases by guiding teams through intervention planning, including exposure-based strategies, and partnering with families and staff to help students successfully return to school. In her role as a district behavior specialist, she supports school teams in addressing complex behavioral needs and building effective systems of support for students.
