Melissa Simpson
Advanced Tiers MTSS Facilitator
Forsyth County Schools
Melissa Simpson (EdS, BCBA) brings more than 25 years of experience in behavioral intervention and support across clinical, residential, home, and school environments in the United States and New Zealand. During her 14 years as a district BCBA in the Special Education Department of Forsyth County Schools (GA), she collaborated with fellow behavior specialists to design and implement a cohesive, research‑driven framework for supporting students with Individualized Education Plans who experience school refusal. In her current role as a district‑level MTSS Facilitator within the Student Services Department, Melissa continues this cross‑department partnership to include advanced-tier attendance intervention efforts for students affected by chronic absenteeism. Her work centers on building practical, sustainable systems that strengthen early identification, intensify support, and improve outcomes for students with behavioral and attendance challenges.
