Dyslexia Lead Teacher
Pulaski County Special School District
Pamela has dedicated 23 years to education and holds an M. Ed, focusing on providing effective, research-based instruction for all students, especially those struggling with reading. Currently, she serves as the Dyslexia Lead Teacher for Pulaski County Special School District—a position she has held for three years—where she supports teachers and students by implementing structured literacy and dyslexia interventions. Throughout her career, Pamela has emphasized advancing evidence-based reading instruction and helping educators develop strong literacy skills in their students. She supports 26 schools and 50 interventionists, coaching them daily through a coaching model to help implement effective, structured literacy practices for struggling readers. Pamela has participated in Arkansas’s R.I.S.E. Initiative and served as a state trainer, helping educators across the state learn about the science of reading. Recently, she introduced structured literacy to her interventionists, enabling them to share practical strategies, instructional insights, and real-world experiences to deepen understanding of structured literacy and improve reading outcomes for struggling learners. Her work focuses on empowering teachers, strengthening intervention systems, and ensuring that students with traits of dyslexia receive the instruction and support they need to become successful readers and writers.
