Dr. Heather Showalter, Ed.D., is a Special Education Coordinator for Pittsylvania County Schools in Chatham, Virginia. With over 30 years of experience as an educator and administrator, Dr. Showalter has worked extensively in both public and private sectors to support students with complex behavioral, communication, and learning needs. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education from High Point University and a Master’s degree in the same field from Elon University. Dr. Showalter earned her doctorate in Education Leadership with an emphasis on special education policy from Drexel University. Her instructional and research expertise includes autism, low-incidence disabilities, and the development of special education leadership.
