Johanna is a Senior Program Associate at WestEd. She is responsible for providing coaching and consulting to schools, districts, and state departments of education around school improvement, responsible data use, mathematics, standards-based curriculum, instruction, data-driven inquiry, professional learning communities (PLCs), professional learning standards and curriculum adoption. She earned her doctorate at the Harvard Graduate School of Education where her research focused on how teachers learn to improve instruction through collaborative data-inquiry. She also specializes in mathematics instruction. Prior to joining WestEd, Johanna taught high school and middle school mathematics at an independent school in New York City and served as the mathematics curriculum coordinator at a charter school in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
