Patty Knapp is an accomplished educational leader with 26 years of experience dedicated to fostering inclusive, equitable learning environments for students with diverse needs. As Supervisor of Special Services for Christina School District, she oversees a comprehensive range of programs and supports across the department, including special education services, related services, and compliance. Within this broad scope, her two areas of focus include strengthening early childhood special education and enhancing behavior support systems to improve outcomes for diverse learners. She is committed to developing cohesive, student-centered programming that supports both functional and academic growth while empowering staff and families through collaboration and shared vision. Mrs. Knapp’s experience spans roles as a paraeducator, special education teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal, providing her with a well-rounded perspective on student and staff needs. Her background includes developing individualized education programs, supporting diverse learning and behavioral needs, and leading collaborative teams. She holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Elementary and Special Education, an Autism Certification from Wilmington University, and a Master’s in School Leadership. Known for her collaborative leadership and strong interpersonal skills, she remains dedicated to advancing inclusive practices and sustainable systems that support all learners.
