Colleen Loughlin is an award-winning educational leader with more than 26 years of experience in public education, including 11 years as an elementary principal. She currently serves as Principal of Fishing Cove Elementary School in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, where she has led the school for the past eight years. Under her leadership, Fishing Cove has been recognized by U.S. News & World Report as the #1 elementary school in North Kingstown and #10 in Rhode Island, placing it among the top five percent of elementary schools statewide. Named the 2026 Rhode Island Elementary Principal of the Year and selected as a 2026 National Distinguished Principal, Colleen is committed to creating learning communities where every child can flourish academically, socially, emotionally, and creatively. Her leadership centers on instructional excellence, innovation, equity, student wellness, and strong relationships among students, staff, families, and the broader community. At Fishing Cove, Colleen facilitated the development of Positive Pathways, an innovative clinical behavioral support program designed to meet the needs of neurodiverse learners while supporting their success in inclusive settings. Colleen believes that transformational schools are built through vision, relationships, courage, collaboration, and an unwavering belief in the potential of every child.
