Dr. Melanie Reese, Director of CADRE, the National Center on Dispute Resolution, was previously the Dispute Resolution Coordinator for the Idaho Department of Education, working closely with the state’s parent center and districts, and overseeing the facilitation, mediation, state complaints and due process systems. Professor emeritus (Boise State University), she was a founding member of their Dispute Resolution graduate program and is author of two successful textbooks in mediation and conflict resolution. Melanie remains active in the academic community, writing on dispute resolution and guest lecturing across the nation and abroad. Melanie served on the executive board of the Idaho Mediation Association, was a college ombudsman, and has been a professional mediator since 1990.
